Petroleum products are those hydrocarbon fractions that are derived from petroleum and have commercial value as a bulk product.  It is very diverse as related to aviation (aviation kerosene colonial grade 54, and jet A1), marine, automotive fuels (D2 GOST 805-82, EN590, etc.), transformer oils, lubricants, greases, oil emulsions, and asphalt.  These are the materials derived from crude oil (petroleum) as processed in complex mixtures in oil refineries.  These are organic compounds as a result of refining (changing) crude oil (petroleum) into more useful products (gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, kerosene, etc.).  Unrefined petroleum include asphalt, bitumen, crude oil, and natural gas.

 

Petroleum oils are classified as either black or white (clean).  Black oils include crude oil, furnace oil, fuel oil, tar and asphalt.  White oils include benzene, kerosene, and gasoline.
