IRON ORE

The Philippines sits on vast reserves of mineral ores, both metallic and non-metallic.  Aside from nickel, gold, and copper, the country is also rich in iron ore reserves of almost 300 million metric tons.  Iron ore is an important commodity currently in high demand due to population and infrastructure growth in developing countries.  The more common mineral ores mined in the country include ores that contained copper, gold, chromium, nickel and iron.
